2014 San Francisco Trek

Overview

The San Francisco Trek saw many companies. Professor Caccia created a walkable Trek plan that was efficient and got most of us to our destinations. One amazing student trekked with crutches and that was no easy feat! Arriving on a Tuesday, Professor Caccia got a head start in order to deliver a specialized Risk Management Talk at SFS. Students arrived on Wednesday and the Trek began in earnest. Wednesday eve found us networking at the hotel with alumni from the Bay area. We all climbed a memorable San Francisco hill to North Beach Pizza where our alumnus, Andy Polacek treated the entire group to many variations on the "pie." Trekkers, Professors Caccia and Zender along with Mary Banks enjoyed a long and filling evening with alumni. Thank you Andy!

Thursday found us in the lobby at 6:30 a.m. to arrive at our first stop in time for a light breakfast at Jim Moore Partners. This very long day ended at FactSet where we toured and networked along with 14 Marketing and Management students and a number of MBAs. Getting ready for Friday was a challenge given yet another day of rain, but we were up and ready to go for another full day of site visits in the Financial District. Our Saturday event was cancelled but students managed to engage with the city in a variety of ways - the Ferry Building was a favorite destination for many of us.
