2015 San Francisco Trek
With more students applying than we could accommodate, the Burridge Center once again took to the streets of San Francisco to visit the following firms: TPG, B. Riley, Cypress Point, J. Moore Partners, UBS Wealth, Barclays, BlackRock, Schwab, BAML, Morgan Stanley, GAP, Visa and Goldman Sachs. Many of these visits were made possible in that our alumni hosted us and offered internship opportunities to the Trekkers and those finance students we left behind in Boulder. Goldman invited 3 Leeds Finance students for phone interviews, out of the 4 total applicants to their Internship Program. This is in large part due to Professor Caccia's relationship with GS but also reflects the "pay it forward" aspect of our alumni relationship with Andy Hartman and, of course, the amazing caliber of Leeds students! BlackRock is interviewing Trekkers as is Visa, BRiley and other alumni with whom the Trekkers connected at the SalesForce.com networking event. J.Moore Partners has been helping Trekkers to connect with his portfolio companies for informational interviews and possible internships.
Two of our alums, Andy Hartman and Matt Breen, hosted the group for Extreme Pizza on Friday night after a full day of trekking. We are very lucky to have such generous alumni! Note: Both of these alumni are either members of the Gold Board and/or the Burridge Board and contribute their time beyond the Trek. We were happy to include our new Executive in Residence, Karen Ashworth, on this Trek. Her connections in the Napa Valley helped to get us a private tour at one of the premier vineyards in Napa. The entire Trek group enjoyed this non finance experience as a capstone to the official part of the Trek.
